The school grounds feature berms, a play structure, full grown trees, a monarch butterfly garden, as well as a beautifully landscaped courtyard. The school is adjacent to the Glen Cairn Community Centre. As a result, the students at the school enjoy the use of a swimming pool, full size adult gym, and a variety of rooms for special projects. A path from the school ground leads to tennis courts which are adjacent to the school property and students are within walking distance of the municipal library and an indoor arena. Glen Cairn Public School serves a population of 310 students. The school is known as a French Immersion Centre, serving approximately 560 students from Senior Kindergarten to grade 8. We offer Early, Middle and Late French Immersion Programs. (In addition, our school offers an English Junior Kindergarten program.) When our students leave after grade eight they are able to read, write and speak in both French and English.
