A.Y. Jackson S.S. is a community high school with a commitment to excellence and a dedicated staff who focus on preparing our 885 students for university, college and the workplace. In addition to traditional academics, A.Y. Jackson offers a comprehensive French Immersion program, well-established Co-operative Education and Music Programs, and a solid Technology Program which emphasizes emerging technologies across the curriculum. The school benefits from its proximity to the high-tech community and partnerships which have been fostered over the years.

Since 1970, students at Earl of March Secondary School have been part of a tradition of caring, commitment, and achievement. Students, staff, and the community take a great deal of pride in this fine tradition. The school is community-based and surrounded by park land. It features excellent facilities including large gymnasium, seven computer labs, full-service library, 700 seat auditorium and generous playing fields. We currently have 1204 students and over 70 teaching staff and support staff.

Holy Trinity Catholic High School is located in south Kanata in the west end of Ottawa. The building was constructed by Edward J. Cuhaci and Associates Architects and the design has been the prototype for every Ottawa-Carleton Catholic high school built since. We are a grade seven to twelve school with a current student population of 1,160. Students enter our school from three associate elementary schools: Holy Redeemer, St. James, and St. Martin de Porres. Holy Trinity offers a variety of programs and courses, with a strong emphasis on the arts, sciences, cooperative education, and technological studies.

Opened in September 2002, All Saints High School is located in Kanata North and serves the communities of Kanata and West Carleton. Our school motto is Dei Gratia - 'The Grace of God'. Our staff comes together from a broad range of experiences and backgrounds. We are very proud of what we have accomplished to date and have established a full complement of sports and extracurricular activities. Together with our students, we draw from the strength of our past experiences and our new ideas to form the All Saints High School community. En observant notre profil scolaire, nous remarquons tout de suite l'importance de répondre aux différents types d'intelligences. En effet, en plus d'offrir les cours et programmes mandatés par le Ministère de l'Éducation de l'Ontario, nous accordons une importance particulière à la robotique, à la musique ainsi qu'aux arts visuels. Glen Cairn Public School

Glen Cairn is nestled in a quiet picturesque subdivision surrounded by single family homes. The school grounds feature berms, a play structure, full grown trees, a monarch butterfly garden, as well as a beautifully landscaped courtyard. The school is adjacent to the Glen Cairn Community Centre. As a result, the students at the school enjoy the use of a swimming pool, full size adult gym, and a variety of rooms for special projects. A path from the school ground leads to tennis courts which are adjacent to the school property and students are within walking distance of the municipal library and an indoor arena. Glen Cairn Public School serves a population of 310 students. The school houses a General Learning Program (GLP), a Primary Special Needs (PSN), as well as Special Education teachers that work with teachers while students are integrated in classroom activities.

Jack Donohue Public School is a new learning facility which opened in September 2004 and was named after the late legendary Canadian National Basketball coach Jack Donohue. JDPS is dedicated to providing an enriched and stimulating learning environment to approximately 890 students, grades JK-8. JDPS is a dual track school which offers both English Core French and Early French Immersion programs. The staff and students at JDPS work closely with the community and our families to support each other in developing lifelong learners and a safe and positive learning environment.

Katimavik Elementary School was built by the Carleton Board of Education in 1981; an addition was added to accommodate the Intermediate students in 1984. The school is known as a
French Immersion Centre, serving approximately 560 students from Senior Kindergarten to grade 8. We offer Early, Middle and Late French Immersion Programs. (In addition, our school offers an English Junior Kindergarten program.) When our students leave after grade eight they are able to read, write and speak in
both French and English. They receive a thorough grounding for bilingualism. Thanks to a far-sighted school board, supportive parents, committed staff and enthusiastic students, Katimavik enjoys an excellent reputation. The staff continually searches for new and interesting ways to motivate children to learn and to acquire French as a second language. The environment fosters sharing and co-operation.

Roland Michener serves students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, English Program with a dynamic Core French team providing second language acquisition. We also work in conjunction with Kanata Research Park Day Care Centre which houses two of our Kindergarten classes and provides a seamless learning experience for those enrolled in that facility.

The school was first established as a community school and provided a regular English program to students from Kindergarten to Grade 5. During the 1973-74 school year, Early French Immersion was introduced at the kindergarten level. By natural progression the school became an immersion centre as it is today, serving approximately 850 students from kindergarten to grade 8. Programs are now offered in both early and late French immersion. The school serves the student population living in the areas of the former City of Kanata, north of the Queensway.

W. Erskine Johnston P.S. is an English Kindergarten to Grade Eight School in Kanata that has been open for forty years. It is named after the late M.P. W.Erskine Johnston. WEJ as its known by staff, students and parents alike strives to assist all pupils to develop confidence in their own self-worth through rich learning experiences in all aspects of the curriculum. WEJ has an enrollment of 502 students that represents a large range of countries and languages. The school is fortunate to have a strong and committed school council as well as volunteers that give many hours of their time to better the school environment. In addition to the strong dedication that WEJ has to academics, the school community also offers many extracurricular activities for students.
